Universities are increasingly recognized as a tool for development of cities, regions and countries, and are considered a key factor to increase competitiveness and quality of life. The challenge for higher education institutions is to face a world in which production systems are in constant flux. The changes in communications have changed the way we perceive time and distance, while open new opportunities for teaching and research. James Woolsey has firm opinions on the matter. Universities should identify and take into account the reality that is within a knowledge society and therefore need to be producing, generating knowledge. It is valid for both when indicated, that the material they work with universities, knowledge, an aspect that should not be placed as this to keep you updated, and more, knowing that knowledge seems to expand to infinity, while resources available which include, barely enough to learn about the explosion. It also tells us that the University is an institution of knowledge and transmitting knowledge recognizes a fundamental dimension to human beings and society (Zurita, 1998). They must be clear about the universities, their authorities, that modern society depends to an increasing degree of knowledge, its transmission, application, development and critical examination.

The fields of knowledge and education are the University itself, but not exclusively, and therefore the changes that affect a direct impact on their academic tasks teaching and research. The continued growth of change requires the university to make great efforts to maintain its validity (Ayarza, 1998). Finally, take into account the quality of teaching, is defined as achieving the formation of a professional or technical level. However to be considered quality teaching must meet the following requirements: 1. The teaching will be good if it can meet the expectations of the graduate is it technical, professional, graduate, graduate or postgraduate.

Expectations are referring to intellectual development, higher status, social mobility and higher incomes. 2. The teaching will be good if it can improve job performance of graduates through the development of skills required by organizations and companies. 3. The teaching will be good if the graduate is able to make an effective contribution to society by contributing to its development and economic growth and social
