German artist has Schult has designed and manufactured this hotel that has already become all a tourist attraction, with objects found in vacant land, beaches and even in flea markets. Why a Hotel? Because, as a benchmark more than our shores, we believe it is the best way to reflect how can become our holidays in future if we do not begin to take care of the coast: surrounded by garbage and coexisting with it as one more element of the environment. And as designing a Hotel of garbage is not easy, we call the best, the prestigious German artist has Schult, famous for his Trash Men and known for its strong environmental commitment since all of his works are made entirely from waste manifest the promoters of the initiative from its web site. Many of the objects that were used to build the walls of this hotel (from stockings, up popped balloons) have been found on the beaches. For the same reason the hotel is named after the Beach Garbage Hotel. The building is built in wood and covered with 12 tonnes of waste found on European beaches. Beach Garbage Hotel is part of the campaign Save the Beach, warns of pollution of the beaches. To one of its founders, Fernando Godoy, anyone who goes to the beach can leave three or four lit cigarette butts and a soft drink can. If this multiply it by 47 million Spaniards, or 300 million Europeans, or 6.5 million people in the world, you can see where you are walking. The raw material needed to build the hotel it is say, garbage – was carefully collected by Schult and its working group for two months in several beaches of Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium, France and Great Britain. Other necessary elements for the building, such as beds, carpets and lamps, were obtained in markets and deposits.
