First Hotel

German artist has Schult has designed and manufactured this hotel that has already become all a tourist attraction, with objects found in vacant land, beaches and even in flea markets. Why a Hotel? Many of the objects that were used to build the walls of this hotel (from stockings, up popped balloons) have been found on the beaches. For the same reason the hotel is named after the Beach Garbage Hotel. The building is built in wood and covered with 12 tonnes of waste found on European beaches. Beach Garbage Hotel is part of the campaign Save the Beach, warns of pollution of the beaches. To one of its founders, Fernando Godoy, anyone who goes to the beach can leave three or four lit cigarette butts and a soft drink can. The raw material needed to build the hotel it is say, garbage – was carefully collected by Schult and its working group for two months in several beaches of Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium, France and Great Britain. Other necessary elements for the building, such as beds, carpets and lamps, were obtained in markets and deposits.
